The Best VGC Tournament To Play In This Month
Pokemon Collides with Charity
A note from the Editor: Will Ross is hosting his 2nd Annual St. Jude Pokemon Tournament on June 29th at 9:30 AM CST. We’ve seen massive support from the community in support of Will’s efforts. For more information, check out this small write-up Will put together. A brief Discord call with Will gave all the insight we needed to say that even if you can’t play in this tour, the $5 donation towards his efforts is very worth it. He currently works for St. Jude and has some amazing plans for the future in regards to Pokemon VGC and St. Jude Plays Live!

The Pokémon community is one of the greatest out there, and the way it unites to support a good cause is truly inspiring. My name is Will Ross, or better known as iWillTheGamer or simply iWill to the community. I've been playing Pokémon since Red/Blue, with Pokémon Silver holding a special place in my heart. I am also a Pokemon Content Creator. For the past four years, I've been a Pokémon content creator, connecting with the community through Let's Plays, shiny hunts, VGC battles, and much more.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey has been participating in St. Jude Play Live. St. Jude Play Live is a program where gamers and content creators raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Their research has played a vital role in increasing the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to over 80% since they opened! These lifesaving efforts rely solely on donations.
What also makes this vital is this is how I started my content journey in 2020. In 2020, I embarked on my content creation journey by participating in St. Jude Play Live. It allowed me to combine my love for Pokémon and streaming while making a positive impact on children's lives. Ever since, I've strived to raise more money and actively engage the Pokémon community in supporting this cause. With my newfound passion for VGC in 2023, I created the 'St. Jude Charity VGC Tour,' a way to merge my dedication to St. Jude with competitive Pokémon battles. Last year, we had a fantastic turnout with 81 trainers, and BigMikeOG emerged as our first champion!
This tournament is more than just competition; it's an opportunity to give back and fight against life-threatening illnesses. Whether you're a seasoned world champion, maybe this is your first tournament or just a casual fan, this event welcomes all skill levels. Join us in this magnificent cause for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! You won't want to miss it.
Last year, we raised over $2,000 for St. Jude, and this year, we aim to surpass that with your support! Thank you for joining me in my passion for finding cures, saving children, and playing Pokémon.
See you on June 29th at 9:30 AM CST!

See you soon, trainers!
