Titans Clash on the World Stage at Pokemon Worlds 2024

This match on day 1 of the Pokemon World Championships 2024 in Honolulu, Hawaii, was a matchup to remember! Two icons of VGC history met on the world stage together to battle it out. With this battle between two colossal legends, we here at Devon Corp Press wanted to highlight such a rare opportunity for those who may have missed it. Official match footage has been linked directly with timestamps for each round, so you don’t have to sift through a day’s worth of stream content to check out the action.

THE TAle of the tape

AARON “CYBERTRON” ZHENG

Cybertron is one of Devon Corp Press’ proclaimed members of the Mt Rushmore of VGC. It’s hard to find someone in the VGC who doesn’t know who Mr. Aaron “Cybertron” Zheng is. Longtime competitor, commentator, and content creator with his trademark intro, “Hey guys! Aaron “Cybertron” Zheng here!” in each of his videos. Born in Queens, NY, Cybertron has been playing the game since the scene’s inception. Starting his career with the Journey Across America Tour that helped start the Pokemon VGC. Since then, he’s gone on to cement a legacy in VGC content creation, commentary, and overall just getting more people into the game.

SEJUN PARK

Sejun Park also needs no introduction. Another one of Devon Corp Press’ Mt Rushmore of the VGC. This man singlehandedly influenced massive interest in the community with his Pachirisu. His 2014 World Championship match went viral for a seemingly off-meta pick. Blowing up discussion on the age old debate of “playing with your favorites”. However, Pachirisu is no weak Pokemon by far. With its tough bulk, and support moves like follow me and helping hand, Pachirisu is an excellent redirection choice for players. Especially in the format the 2014 Worlds had.
